Abstract:
In the first 20–30 minutes of the talk, I will revisit my presentation at the NeurIPS 2025 MATH+AI workshop, with a broad audience in mind. I will then discuss further MATH+AI topics and survey some of my research interests in pure mathematics, including ideas inspired by physics.
Bio:
Sergey Galkin is an Associate Professor of Mathematics at PUC-Rio. He earned his PhD at the Steklov Mathematical Institute in 2008 under Prof. Vasili Iskovskikh. He previously worked at Kavli IPMU, the University of Vienna and HSE University. His research focuses on algebraic geometry and mathematical physics, including Fano varieties, mirror symmetry and quantum cohomology.. He is also a member of the CayleyPy collaboration, applying artificial intelligence to problems in group theory.
